05/06/02 Back in Jerusalem
Greetings
We spent two days at "Segol" (Purple in Hebrew) festival, outside of Haifa in northern Israel.
A man named Gary, who is involved with an outreach organization, graciously payed our travelling
expenses, food, and we also enjoyed his fellowship. Our friends from Tel Aviv also came, along
with a man from Korea who is a believer. We were in the midst of what might have been a couple
of thousand people camped out for two days. There were many workshops, drumming circles, ethnic foods,
and other events there to occupy people's time. We tried to focus on sharing our beliefs with
different people that we encountered. Also, Gary had brought quite a few books and New Testaments
printed in Hebrew- which we were able to distribute. I will confess that it was a battle to be
there, as many people preferred to indulge in fleshly things. When all was finished, though, I
feel that there was a work accomplished, for which we are very thankful.
Gary has invited us to the next festival, which starts on the 16th of this month. It seems as
though it will be geared more to the "hippy" crowd, instead of the "Segol" festival- which was
very New Age oriented. We are considering going to this next one right after we are scheduled
to play at the "Jerusalem Festival." Again, we are thankful to have opportunities to share our
faith here!
I suppose that this is the news from us for now,
Shalom Uv'racha (Peace with Blessings)
