Leaving America

Some thoughts before leaving

03/24/02
Today is the final day of our preparation. Steve and Paul are up in Portland Oregon preparing to fly out tomorrow, while I am in the Bay Area in California preparing to do the same. It seems like we all have a strong desire to go to Israel, a "pull in that direction". Over and over we have heard people tell us about all of the violence there at this time. A close friend discovered statistics recently that New Orleans Louisiana might equal Israel for numbers of deaths and violence. I have lived in New Orleans before, and know some of the violence of that place. I think that in the end it comes down to one precious verse from the Holy Scriptures:

"The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of Yahveh" (Proverbs 21:31)

So, no, we don't desire to be foolish and walk into a trap, but we feel the Almighty is going to show us when and where to go. Please pray for us that we could stay in His will, and that His purpose for our going could be manifest.
It is also been a heavy thing to think of leaving this country because of all of the fellowship we have partaken of. It seems as though wellsprings of joy are springing up at a quick rate in these days. By the mercy and will of Yahveh we hope to establish a place for wayfaring strangers abroad- although we will have to wait and see. So, Beloved, you will be missed, and we hope to keep communication and fellowship through whatever means are available. Peace unto you all.
